About PowerGuide
PowerGuide is an independent UK comparison site for solar panels, home batteries, heat pumps, plug-in balcony solar and portable power stations. We compare products on the specs that actually decide performance, such as usable capacity, efficiency, real-world output and price, not marketing copy.
Who runs it
Rob Hammond is a technologist and renewable energy enthusiast. Rob has worked in web technologies for over 20 years, and has worked with leading brands and news publishers.
PowerGuide is independently run. There's no editorial board, no investors and no manufacturer partnerships influencing what's published; see how we make money below.
How we source data
Specs and prices come from a structured product catalogue kept up to date with automated scrapers against manufacturer and retailer pages. Editorial content, the verdict, pros and cons, and the A–E score on every product, is written by hand and is never overlaid or changed by a scraper. See how we score for the full method.
Independence & how we make money
PowerGuide earns money two ways: affiliate commission when you buy through an outbound link, and referral fees when you request installer quotes through a quote form. Neither influences which products we recommend or how they're scored, because the score is set before any commercial link is attached to a product. Full detail on our disclosure page.
