Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

PowerGuide is reader-supported. We may earn a commission from links on this page. It never affects our rankings or what we recommend.

How we make money

Two ways:

• Affiliate commission. Some outbound "Buy" and "View at {merchant}" links on product pages are affiliate links. If you click through and buy, we may earn a commission from the retailer or manufacturer, at no extra cost to you.
• Installer lead generation. On solar, battery, heat pump and air-con pages, submitting the "get quotes" form passes your details to a partner installer network, who may pay us for the introduction.

Which networks

Affiliate links on this site run through Amazon Associates, Awin, Impact, plus direct manufacturer/retailer programmes. Every merchant we link to is listed in our merchant configuration; not every merchant is on a commissioned programme yet.

Featured product placements

Cards labelled "Featured · Ad" throughout the site are automatically selected from our catalogue, never manually curated or paid for by a manufacturer, and are commission-earning affiliate placements, which is why they carry the "Ad" label. The product shown is picked by rating and buyability, not by who pays the most; see how we score.

What never happens

• Manufacturers cannot pay for a better score, see it before publication, or change it.
• Ranking on a "best of" list is never for sale.
• A product's affiliate or lead-gen status has no bearing on whether it's included or how it's scored, because the score is set first, independent of any commercial link.

For what we do with the personal data collected through those quote and contact forms, see our privacy policy.
