Our verdict
The WindFree Avant's party trick is 'still air' cooling through thousands of micro-holes, avoiding the cold draught most splits create, and the WindFree mode runs near-silently. The latest generation lifts efficiency to A+++ cooling, and with a SCOP near 4.8 it makes a solid air-to-air heat pump for winter warmth. Built-in SmartThings and self-cleaning round out a well-featured package.
Good
- Draught-free WindFree cooling
- Good A+++ efficiency
- Built-in SmartThings and self-clean
Watch out
- WindFree mode reduces output on the hottest days
- Fewer accredited installers than Daikin/Mitsubishi
