The MSZ-AY replaced the long-serving MSZ-AP as Mitsubishi's core wall split and is a dependable all-rounder with A+++ cooling and A++ heating. Built-in Wi-Fi and Plasma Quad filtration are welcome at this price. As a heat pump it heats a room efficiently, though its SCOP trails the premium Kirigamine and Daikin Perfera.

Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-LN Kirigamine

The MSZ-LN Kirigamine is Mitsubishi's premium statement piece, offered in white, black, red and silver with a flush, mirror-like fascia. Behind the looks sit A+++ ratings in both modes and a SCOP above 5.0, so it is a genuinely capable air-to-air heat pump for year-round use. It is one of the pricier options, but the design and dual-barrier air handling set it apart.
