EcoFlow Wave 3

The Wave 3 is a different animal to mains-only rivals: with the optional battery it runs cordlessly for hours, making it ideal for tents, vans, campers and off-grid rooms. Genuinely quiet (down to 44 dB) and doubles as an efficient heat pump, but cooling output is modest for the money and it is expensive once you add the battery.

MeacoCool MC7000CH

The MC7000CH is a sensible small-room all-rounder: quiet enough for a bedroom, cheap to run on R290 refrigerant and backed by a 3-year warranty. Heating mode makes it useful outside summer, though at 7,000 BTU it will struggle in anything larger than a small lounge.
