Not legal to self-install as plug-in solar
This system stores energy, which the UK plug-in solar rules (SI 2026/848) exclude. It can't be used under the plug-in route, so in Great Britain it needs a hardwired installation by a qualified electrician.

Our verdict
The natural upgrade path if you started with a STREAM microinverter: stack it under the inverter and your clipped surplus goes into storage instead of nowhere. It's the most readily available of these batteries in the UK, but plug-in batteries can't currently be self-installed in Great Britain, so for now it needs an electrician-installed connection.
